” It actually has to do with respecting our biology… and you can start with what you eat!
.. I finished my service at a retreat and, as usual, hugged the attendees to say goodbye. As I was leaving, two attendees asked if they could ask me a question. “Of course,” I said. “We were talking with Bry and noticed you always look so smiley and calm. Was there a major event in your life, something intense you had to go through that made you see things differently and have this attitude—you’re always smiling! We’d love to be more like you…”
“Well, NOT REALLY.” It actually has to do with respecting our biology… and you can start with what you eat!

I always say that my life-changing experience was starting to connect with real food… it transformed my choices, my tastes, and it also brought me closer to spiritual practices and contact with God that I never reached by going to mass every day and being educated in a Catholic school.
Sometimes people ask me why I smile so much or have a more relaxed attitude. I want to clarify here that I also get angry, pout, and get nervous… I’m writing this article because I want you to know that feeling more at ease with your life, your body, and existence itself is possible, and it has a lot to do with simply
WHAT DO I MEAN BY RESPECTING YOUR HUMANITY?
If you’re a reader, you’ve probably read me before or attended one of my rituals or workshops. The key is to accept that you are living in this human form. It’s about incorporating into our daily actions the understanding that we are MORE than our mental body. It’s integrating our spiritual body, emotional body, and physical body.
I won’t waste words describing the mind.
If you’re in my community, it’s very likely that you approach or integrate your spiritual body—or at least try—through Cacao, yoga, soundhealing, etc.
The emotional body simply IS and EXISTS; it’s about letting it express itself without getting stuck in it. It’s the most volatile body and therefore the most prone to being “contaminated” by others or reflecting others’ emotions.
AND THE PHYSICAL BODY..
You might think you take care of your physical body because you exercise 2–5 times a week, shower and brush daily, and do a face mask. Because from Monday to Friday you follow a diet that includes collagen and gluten free bread ( that's great!).
But the physical body is about much more than an hour of exercise or a “healthy” meal.
LET’S LOOK AT IT FROM AN EVOLUTIONARY PERSPECTIVE…
Humans have had the same type of body—AKA genetic bases, bone structures, and organs—for 2.5 million years! And that hasn’t changed.
Agriculture, a historical moment when we started consuming more controlled foods and living slightly less active, more routine lives, began 10,000 years ago (versus the 2.5 million years…).
Food industrialization began 300 years ago, a historical moment when we started incorporating powders with isolated nutrients, fast-cooking foods, colorants, stabilizers, microplastics… etc. (versus 2.5 million years!!!)
Technological modernization began a little less than 250 years ago, with the first television, then computers, cell phones, etc. (again, versus 2.5 million years).
What do I want you to do with these loose facts?
I want to invite you to a quick imagination exercise: see yourself now, with this body, 2.5 million years ago...
There are no lights, only fire.
No alarm clocks, only sunrise...
No apps telling you when, how, or where to eat—only intuition and interaction with your environment…
No WhatsApp, only conversations and exchange…
No apartments, only communal living…
No industry, only seas, rivers, and lakes less polluted…
No plastics or metals, no radiation, no constant noise….
How does your physical body feel in that scenario? Forget your mind, which today has a lot of information. Just observe your physical body…
Ojo, Pretending to feel super well and always having a relaxed attitude is not realistic. Our moods and energy levels change—normal, human. (Imagine even living in the best place in the world, there would be days when your clothes got wet, there were mosquitoes, or you were tired. Normal, right?)
Pero, trying to feel super well and constantly relaxed in an environment for which your body, your structure, your vehicle on this earth is not prepared… is, at least, quite complex.
It’s simply not normal or biological to be overstimulated at every moment. Following devices and artificial lights, constantly exposed to smoke, radiation, noise, wearing shoes. Much less eating from plastic trays, sustaining your life on powders and supplements with a handful of greens. Heating your food in a radiation machine, eating avocado, eggs, and cacao every day of the year in the same amounts.
Do you think your 2.5-million-year-old biology would enjoy that? You already know the answer.
SO, what to do?
I started this article talking about being more at peace with your body, more relaxed, more smiley. And I told you that food had a lot to do with it.
Feeding your physical body with real food 100% will change your perception and your perspective of reality.
HOW TO START?
Eat more REAL foods: foods created by THE SUN, not a machine—eggs, seeds, fresh fish, pasture-raised meats, seasonal vegetables and fruits from your area.
Reduce ultra-processed and packaged foods.
You can make sweet cookies by mashing bananas and adding oats and chocolate chips. Popcorn takes less than 5 minutes; instead of bags of tea, buy loose herbs.
Consume dairy and fats that come in glass containers. Go to local markets or organic stores that promote local products.
Talk to the people who sell your food, cook together, use your hands to feel the variety of textures and weights in each food. Share, observe the colors.
Life speaks to you every moment! And food is a great way to listen. Colors, shapes, cycles, flavors, textures…
Think, how many times a day do you sit down to eat? Each time is an opportunity to reconnect with life ;)
I assure you, starting by changing your eating habits can completely transform your world.
With love, Sol Luciana.
